Hello! I am so happy you are here. Today I want to share with you a topic that I’m passionate about but most are scared of. What topic could this possibly be that scares the daylights out of most? COLOR! Yes, I said it color. From early adult hood I decided that any color can work as a neutral and to decorate with colors that made me feel happy. I have had some failed attempts with my color choices but always enjoyed experimenting and trying new color combinations in my home. So how do you choose a color to start with? My advice is to choose a color that you’re drawn to and gives you a feeling. Maybe it is your favorite color, a color that relaxes you, makes you feel happy or a color that makes you feel bold.
My love affair with color started with the color green. I could not decorate or paint enough shades of green in my home or buy enough accessories in my home to fill my passion for this color. From this color I decided that it was my new neutral and any color could work with it. I then started painting rooms in my home shades of yellow, orange, blue and pulling them together with my new neutral green and an element of color from the attached room. By pulling a color from the connected room or previous room it made my home feel cohesive and it just worked. As we approach spring and are looking for ways to brighten up our home I challenge you to add a pop of color. Start with some accent pieces such as a vase, candle sticks, throw pillows, small bright piece of furniture or some beautiful flowers. Find inspiration from our photos below.
