My name is Brynn and I am a lover of all things vintage. Especially vintage furniture. I started Salvaged in 2012 out of our 2 car garage. I filled it with beautiful, timeless, broken down pieces of furniture that just needed some TLC (in my opinion anyways!). Then I filled one of our spare bedrooms…and our living room…and 2 storage units. I needed Furniture Anonymous. At the time of this “little” hobby of mine, I was actually working as a Licensed Loan Officer in the mortgage industry. When things were stressful, all I had to do was pick up a paint brush and calm my nerves. As the custom orders from friends and family started rolling in, I found myself spending more and more time on furniture & less and less time on my actual fulltime job. With the unconditional support and encouragement from family, I soon realized what my next step was. I searched for the perfect retail location for a long time. I got cold feet a couple of times and was disappointed a handful of other times when deals fell through. In July of 2013, I signed the lease on the perfect location on RT 1 in Lewes. After countless hours and so many sleepless nights, Salvaged opened its doors on August 16, 2013. None of this would be possible without the help of my amazing husband, Richard, and all of my family who put in so much effort to make my dream come true. Since that day, Salvaged has been on an upward swing and things only continue to get better. In February 2014, we expanded by about 3,000 sq ft and I brought on my business partner, Michelle. We also became Delaware’s exclusive Chalk Paint stockist. I am amazed every day by what we have all accomplished in a short amount of time, and all of the possibilities still left ahead of us. I thank all of our amazing customers, friends, and family for allowing us to live our dream!

Hello!! I am Michelle. I began my painted furniture journey about 2 years ago. I worked at Auto Auctions for 18 years where I always yearned to work in a more creative profession. I dreamed of owning my own business for years where my dreams varied from being an Event Planner, Interior Designer, Florist and Professional Organizer. I lived in Maryland my entire life and decided to make some major changes by moving to Lewes, Delaware and leaving my job. Now was the perfect time to put my dreams to the test. With the support and undeniable encouragement from my boyfriend I decided to start my own business. I was inspired by Pinterest with painted furniture and started researching how to do it. I was drawn to all things painted with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. So I found a Stockist, drove 2 hours to buy the paint, than painted everything I could in my home! I then started buying furniture just to paint and filled my garage. I was then left with a garage filled with painted furniture and the idea to start a painted furniture shop. I was able to take my passion for shopping and decorating and turn it into a business. I found a space inside of a vendor mall and realized quickly that I was onto something great. After a short 6 month sprint in the vendor mall I started looking for my own store front. It was at that time that I met my business partner Brynn. We were right next store to each other, using the same paint and shared the same passion for creativity and growth. It was natural for me to join as a partner in Salvaged. It has been an amazing journey since I have joined this partnership. We play off of each other’s strength and weakness. I am excited about continuing to grow the business and feel the opportunities are endless.
